Cerf au Lac
Marina Delas - 2026
Limited edition of 16 prints
A young deer from the Landes forest, drinking at the lake. The color pairing comes from Sanzo Wada's Dictionary of Color Combinations (vol. 1), a compendium of Japanese chromatic harmonies. This print is built on contrast: the softness of the blue water is awakened by the vibrant red of the deer. The reflection is the result of layering and transparency effects. In terms of texture, diluting the red layer creates a dithering effect. This linocut was made using the multi-block method: a first block for the pale blue, a second for the vibrant red, and a final one dedicated to the black outline. You'll find all the details of the making process on my social media.
